  If the brake pedal is stepped on before the ignition is turned on with the key, the remote starter will immediately shut down.

  The system will not activate when the vehicle's hood is open and will immediately shut down if the hood is opened when the vehicle is running by the remote starter. The vehicle must be equipped with an OEM hood-pin switch for this safety feature and for any aftermarket or Ford OEM dealer-installed remote start to operate correctly.
  
  TECH TIP: To confirm that your specific vehicle is equipped with an OEM hood pin switch, just pop the hood and turn the ignition on. When equipped (the majority are), it will indicate on the dash cluster that the hood is open.
   
• Ford OEM-Equivalent Preventive Safety Inputs
  OEM-grade components that meet all Ford OEM safety standards equivalent to Ford part numbers ML3Z-19A361-A and HC3Z-19G366-A. The remote start will not operate if the hood is open or the switch is not present/defective, the low fuel light is on, the check engine light is on, and the vehicle's battery voltage is too low. Some stored DTC codes (no check engine light) will also prevent the remote start from activating. Consult your vehicle's owner's/operators manual for complete details.
